About

Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Ute calls beautiful Vancouver Island B.C. her home for many years. She specializes in creating lively images around food and life style as well as capturing unique moments in nature and around the sea on the magnificent Canadian West Coast.

Her photography is inspired by the natural world and the obvious but sometimes overlooked beauty of the harvest.

As a self-taught photographer her main focus is always on composition. It’s the love for the detail that drives her passion for photography. Simplicity and minimalism are what Ute likes to convey in many different ways.

“Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art.”

– Frederic Chopin
